Apple Pie Oatmeal
Modified from Life Tastes Good
3 large apples - peeled and diced (I used Gala apples...they had 2 here, which I did, but I think it needs more)
1 cup steel cut oats (they really say to use these as they hold up well...I used them and they worked well)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp. brown sugar (I only used 2, which is what they recommend, but I don't think it was sweet enough so I plan to try doubling it next time)
3 cups whole milk
Put oats, cinnamon, salt and brown sugar in slow cooker. Stir to combine. Add the milk and apples. Stir again to mix.
Put lid on slow cooker and cook on low for 3 hours.
Turn temperature down to warm and let cook overnight.
In morning, stir and serve.
