Wacky Cake

I found this recipe, which was said to be a WWII recipe from rationing.  It was easy and fun!  I think the raspberry (which I totally smelled) didn't come through in taste, so I'm going to add in the raspberry extract.

Wacky Cake

1 ½ cups flour

1 cup sugar

½ tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

3 tbsp cocoa powder

6 tbsp oil

1 tsp vanilla (I want to use raspberry extract next time)

1tbsp raspberry vinegar (or any flavor)

1 cup cold water

Put flour to cocoa powder in a bowl.  Blend together.  Make three holes (they called them "pukas" and put oil in one, extract in second and vinegar in third.  Pour water over all of it.  Mix it up until smooth.

Bake in any regular sized pan for 30 minutes (I used 9 by 9 square) at 350.  Serve warm.  Can serve with whipped cream or just powdered sugar. I actually did chocolate frosting.  The issue was then I couldn't reheat it as my frosting wasn't something I could heat up.
